Someone is OBSESSED with stick notation!

Pre-K A and Pre-K B explore movement through scarves with the Spanish song "De Colores".

Don't wake the Grizzly Bear!! If you wake him, if you shake him, he gets very MAD!!

First graders are practicing TA, TI-TI, and Z on a percussion instrument.

Second Graders are playing ostinatos (repeated patterns) while singing a known song. Thanks to the Arts Committee for purchasing additional glockenspiels and our rolling Orff stands so that we can move our larger instruments with ease!

OK but can you do it with your eyes closed?

On Arts Day, we had the pleasure of having Elizabeth Woodhouse stop by P.S. 261 to work with our 4th and 5th Grade Chorus students. Elizabeth is the conductor of the Pre-Teen Division of the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, just steps away from our school. The kids definitely enjoyed their time with her and at the end of the rehearsal got to participate in an impromptu performance in the lobby!
